Plain-language terms for using SpareHours. By creating an account, listing a space, or booking, you agree to these terms. This is a plain-language summary and not attorney-reviewed legal advice.
SpareHours is an online marketplace that connects hosts who have unused commercial space with renters who want to book it by the hour. SpareHours is not the owner, operator, or manager of any listed space, and is not a party to the agreement between a host and a renter.
You must provide accurate information and are responsible for activity under your account. You must be able to form a binding contract to use SpareHours. We may suspend or remove accounts that violate these terms or misuse the platform.
Hosts are responsible for the accuracy of their listing, the condition, safety, and legality of their space, holding any required permissions or permits, and honoring confirmed bookings. Listings are subject to review and may be edited, rejected, or suspended at our discretion.
Renters must use spaces lawfully and as described, follow each host's house rules, leave the space as they found it, and are responsible for any damage they cause. Renters complete identity verification before booking.
Listing is free for hosts, who set their own hourly rate and keep 100% of it (less any payment-processing costs). Renters pay the host's listed price plus a 15% SpareHours service fee, shown in full before payment. Payments and payouts are processed by Stripe; by transacting you also agree to Stripe's terms.
Hosts may require a refundable deposit. Damage claims must include evidence and are limited to the deposit amount held. SpareHours may review claims but does not adjudicate legal disputes; hosts and renters are responsible for resolving disagreements between themselves, and SpareHours is not liable for either party's conduct.
No illegal activity, no unsafe or unpermitted use, no events that violate a space's stated rules or capacity, no harassment, no fraudulent listings or bookings, and no attempts to take transactions off-platform to avoid fees or verification.
Cancellations and refunds follow the Cancellation & Refund Policy, which is part of these terms.
SpareHours is a platform provided "as is." We do not guarantee the condition, safety, legality, or availability of any space, and we provide no insurance. To the extent permitted by law, SpareHours is not liable for damages arising from bookings, spaces, or the conduct of hosts or renters.
We may suspend or remove listings or accounts, and may update these terms. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms.
